Description: A Rare fashion piece from the Modernist / Futurist movement of the 1930's Very Early Flash Gordon! This is an incredible solid metal belt, from the late 1930's to early 1940's - It's brass with a silver and green enameled spring clip closure - like an old style seat belt. Buckle is 2.75" square, belt is 2" at widest and 1.5" at CB. Thickness of the belt body is appox 1.5mm The buckle opens and closes by the push of a button and snaps shut securely and the mechanism works very smoothly. The inside circumference of this belt is 26.5" This belt is meant to fit at TRUE Waist! (roughly belly button level) There is no maker's mark. A very substantial piece with a very nice weight. (about13 oz)The finish on the metal is very good, minimal marks or smudges, and some fingerprints. I have only buffed it with plain felt. I would leave any deeper cleaning to a jewelry or metal expert and only after testing the finish. I don't know what the finish is, chrome maybe? - along the top edge of the back of the belt are a 2 very tiny spots that feel slightly rough about 1mm and 2mm, these do not extend anywhere into body of belt. They are all but invisible to the eye. A true fashion collectible.
