Description: RARE ITEM!! BACK AFTER A YEAR WITHOUT ONE!! CLASSIC LUNAR RESEARCH!! This is USGS Professional Paper 1046-D, Experimental Photogrammetry of Lunar Images. Published in 1980, this is one of only a few scarce publications the USGS did on behalf of NASA on Lunar geology. This is part four of the four-part Apollo 15-17 Orbital Investigations series, three of which I am currently offering in my store. This 23-page book discusses how improved orbital photography of the moon allows for construction of the most detailed topographic maps ever constructed for the moon. It comes complete with all four of the original large maps in a pocket in the back of the book. I've shown two of the maps in the pictures. The others are similar. The maps are very detailed topographic maps of interesting and varied parts of the moon. Such data allows for improved interpretation of lunar features including craters, lava flows, and subtle structural deformations of the lunar surface. This is a scarce and interesting publication, and to find it complete with all its maps is quite significant. An uncommon opportunity for collectors of Apollo program literature and memorabilia. Expert packing assured. The recent increase in postage rates was pretty big. As a result, Media Mail is now my default shipping method to keep shipping affordable.
