Description: This control board replaces the shaded pole relay found in post war Lionel tenders with the AC motor and the original control board found in modern era tenders with a DC motor. This is a new manufactured item. It operates with transformers with a whistle lever and with battery operated whistle buttons. It is polarity sensitive so you may have to reverse track wires for successful operation. Instructions included. If you have a tender with a bad or sticking relay, this board will fix that. It won't help if you have a bad motor. If you are repairing a tender with an AC whistle, look at my other auctions and consider using the Teledyne coupler relay as it will operate AC motors just fine and is smaller than this unit and may be easier to install in smaller tenders. If you are using an MTH controller/transformer setup please contact me before ordering. This board will not work with some MTH controllers. This board or my Teledyne relay will operate a K-line DC whistle motor by using the AC output and a 4Amp bridge rectifier to the whistle motor. The K-line draws a lot more current than the Lionel DC whistle motor. See picture.
