Description: This listing is for a Staffordshire "Texian Campaigne" soup tureen, with underplate. Condition: there are several discolored spots due to age; there is a hairline stress fracture on the underplate; there is also a chip on the underside edge of the underplate (see photos); there is a slight "wobble" when sitting on the underplate; IT IS MISSING THE ORIGINAL LID. The tureen measures 13" across (from handle to handle), 8-1/2" deep, and 6" tall. The underplate measures 14-3/8" by 11-5/8." This particularly collectible pattern was created by James Beech in the mid-19th. century and depicts the Battle of Resaca de la Palma. It would make a great addition to any collection.
