Description: 2001 P New York State Quarter exhibiting, what appear are, major minting errors. I have examined this coin under 10x and 20x magnification.Between the torch and the state outline (reverse), there appears to be a major die break as there is a substantial amount of excess metal at this location. There are several additional areas of raised and recessed metal on opposite sides of this coin.It is my opinion that this is created by major damage at the mint although there is a great deal of wear as this coin is not the average slight raised relief variety.
