Description: This is a Hopi creation from Second Mesa. Specifically, it comes from the village of Shungopavi. The artist is Doris Joshongeva. It's over 15" across with four distinct colors and no fading detected. A hanging loop is woven on the back for display. Typically, Second Mesa coil works are made from galleta grass and yucca. The coiled piece features a twin war gods motif with deer about the rim. Those deities are called Pö-ökang-hoya and Palö-ngao-hoya. Please note that we do not import or export ancient items.
