Also included as an appendix is the scarce pamphlet, "The Volunteer's Manual or Ten Months With the 153rd Pennsylvania Volunteers" by William Simmers and Paul Bach Schmid.This regiment was organized at Easton September, 1862.It mustered out July 24, 1863. [1] Major engagements included the Battle of Chancellorsville, Virginia from May 1-5, 1863 and the Battle of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania from July 1-3, 1863.
