Description: Retired and no longer available, Graf von Faber-Castell Limited Edition #0253/1761, Pen of the Year 2007, Petrified Wood, Fountain Pen with medium nib. Here's your chance to get a Limited-Edition quality instrument with a low number. Forest from eons ago were buried under water, lava, or soil. In the course of a crystallization process that may have taken up to 360 million years, the wood became petrified: a preliminary stage of the semi-precious stones, chalcedony or agate. With great precision, the pieces of gemstone have been cut, ground, and polished by the hands of a master craftsman. Each fountain pen is a unique work of art. Nib manufacturing involves over a hundred steps, mostly carried out by hand. Platinum-plated metal parts and a new 18ct bicolored gold M nib, carefully 'run in' by hand, round off this special edition - limited to 1761 pieces - which is no longer available. Pen is individually numbered 0253 on the head of the plunger mechanism and features a built-in twist plunger mechanism.
