Description: CONDITION: Excellent, original condition. There is clean, even crazing on the back and in the green section on the front. This is to can expected with antique majolica wares. This majolica ceramic oyster plate was produced in England in the 1880s. In some cases it is identified as Minton and in others George Jones. Since there is no marking it can’t be confirmed. It is old, original and English. It measures 9 1/2 inches in diameter. There are 6 wells for shells and a center compartment for salt. The shells alternate in color, bright pink and white with a tinge of pink. A ring of little scallop shells encircle the green salt dip. In between the shell compartments are snail shells and little clams. Colors are bright and crisp. It is a wonderful decorator piece or addition to a collection. #E928 IMPORTANT: PLEASE DO NOT PAY until you have purchased all the items you plan to bid on.
