Description: 1908-1927Old-money Estate Find from Kittery Point, Maine. Dog bone radiator cap stamped number "1" mounted with a century-old Hawaiian surf figure. This appears to be the original mount. John & Kate Kelly cast & sold these surfer statues out of the early Waikiki tourist shops as novelty automobile hood ornaments. We've been collecting Hawaiiana for over 25yrs and, while this was their intended purpose, this is the very first time we've actually found one of these statuettes mounted as a hood ornament. Stands about 7 1/2" tall. Measures about 1 7/8" across the interior threading. Shipping will be $4.95 to any U.S. address ($8.00 foreign). This auction is for the Surfer statue/radiator cap only. The other props seen in our photos are available in our eBay store.
