A Gift So Rare More Inspirational Verses Hardcover By Helen Lowrie Marshall 1969 A Gift So Rare by Helen Lowrie Marshall is full of enchanting verse. IT is gorgeously illustrated. Someone has inserted a "peace" symbol on the inside cover. There is a small tear on the bottom of the dust jacket on the back side. 61 Numbered Pages. Single Price: $21.34 There Are Men Too Gentle to Live Among Wolves, James Cavanaugh, Collectible Poet This is a book of poetry by James Kavanaugh, featuring one of his most famous works, "There Are Men Too Gentle to Live AmongWolves". This is the book's seventh printing in its first edition as a hardback. It is oriented in a different manner to traditional hardbacks; imagine one clamming open from the top rather than the side. The book itself is in excellent condition, whereas the dust jacket has a few minor rips and other cosmetic abrasions. Single Price: $39.99 Candlemas Bay, Ruth Moore, 1950, William and Morrow Company, Vintage, Rare Candlemas Bay was quite popular upon its release, and has a legacy that continues into the 21st century. Ruth Moore went on to write many novels. This particular copy has no dust jacket, but is in very good to fine condition. There are two "Sturgis Public Library" stamps in the title pages. On one, someone has written 5,105. On the back cover is the card envelope, another stamp for Sturgis, and a stamp stating the book has been withdrawn. Wear is very minimal, consistent with a 70+ year old book. 308 Numbered Pages. Single Price: $29.99 Doctor Zhivago, Boris Pasternak (1958, 1st PB ed.) Signet 30th print, vintage One might consider "Doctor Zhivago" in film form as the sequel to "War and Peace". The names of the writer of the novel and the director of War and Peace are interestingly similar. Boris Pasternak wrote Zhivago, Sergei Bondarchuk directed the most venerated iteration of the film. In both cases, the books from which associated films are based reveal contextual details which provide greater insight into the vision of the narrative. This paperback copy of Doctor Zhivago is no exception. It is in very good shape considering its age. There is mild creasing on the bottom right side of the cover, see photos. The pages are limned in a gorgeous scarlet color, see photos. The spine is mildly creased, all pages sit firmly in the binding. No markings. This is the first softcover edition in its 30th impression/printing. 456 pages.
