This item is a real and very important piece of Blythe history - This fantastic ad for the Kenner creation is almost unbelievable in its inventive scope and comprehensive focus, plus the nature of the sales pitch is wonderfully weird. A lot of information is packed into this small space, and the ad probably ran for just one month, near the end of the one-year Blythe project. By having this book placed into the display area with your dolls, it could help to produce an authentic 1972 atmospheric environment around your entire Blythe world. This comic book was marketed to children via newsstands and variety store spinner racks, as there were no comic book stores with new comics and direct distribution in those days. The kids would have had to buy the comic first, then discover this amazing ad later on the back cover. By the way, also found inside this comic is a second ad from the Kenner Company: "Sally Visits the Easy-Bake Oven Toy Factory".This ad has an equally mind-blowing pitch for the newest model of the company's legacy toy: the "greatest girl's toy since dolls". [E-BO was inducted into the National Toy Hall of Fame in 2006.]The company was located in Cincinnati, Ohio, and they encouraged the kids to send in 75ยข in order to receive an additional six baking mixes for oven use, postpaid.
