Description: CONDITION: Excellent, first quality. This porcelain cup and saucer was produced in Germany by Meissen around 1840. It has first quality crossed swords markings under the glaze. The saucer is 6 inches in diameter. The cup is 3 inches tall with a diameter of 3 3/4 inches. This is an over-sized set, perhaps used for coffee. The two pieces have molded hight relief cartouches containing birds sitting on branches. The birds are superbly hand painted in bright colors and fine detail. They are framed in gold. Delicate hand gilding trims the rims and split branch handle. This is a cup and saucer any bird lover would appreciate. #C935 Please do not bid if you do not intend to pay.
