Description: EARLY 1900'S APPLE BUTTER CROCK Charming stoneware advertising apple butter crock for Silk City Pickling Company out of Patterson, New Jersey. Not much info is available for this company other than it was formed in the late 1800's. The label is paper and still firmly adhered to the crock. No buckles or tears, just some discoloration from the years. Condition is quite nice. Please examine all the photos for measurements. Amazing it still has its lid. The lid says American Can Co. And also another line underneath which I can't read. So I'm thinking the crock itself was manufactured by the American Can Co. for the Silk City Pickling Company. Wood and wire handle is still intact and secure. This appears to be quite scarce/rare as I could not find another for sale identical to this one. If you collect these, you're gonna to want this one. You'll be more than pleased. Enjoy!
