Description: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Wonderful nautical 1800s shipwreck painting on board -I found one very similar painting in fact near identical but with men hanging onto the mast in the water So most likely this was a study for a much larger painting. The Artist is Edward P. Taylor I believe not much listed about him but this is a wonderful example of maritime art from the mid to late 1800's The outside frame measures approx. 13 X 17 inches and the board measures approx. 10 X 14 inchesWhat's wrong with it? Painting is in pretty good condition some minor paint loss, chips, nicks, dings dents and scratches, crackling and could use a good cleaning as well. The painting was attached to the frame somehow and has lifted in several corners can be re attached or removed and reframed. There are some chips in the edge of the board lower right hand side see pictures. The frame has minor nicks, chips, dents, scratches paint loss and dings and needs a good cleaning as well.
