Description: This lot consists of a reprint 8-Panel of 1968 Topps, featuring Reds' Gary Nolan, Cards' Dal Maxvill, Angels' Jim Fregosi, White Sox' Joe Horlen, Cards rookies Hal Gilson and Mike Torrez, Phillies' John Boozer, Senators' Ken McMullen, and Cards' Lou Brock Series Highlight. Here's what we remember... In the late 1980's at the East Coast National, we were offered a Topps part sheet of 44 cards (4x11), which was obviously a work-up because there was a 3rd series checklist card that didn't have players on it yet, and it had no print as yet on the back. As I recall, the fellow selling the sheet wanted $1000, and it was one of those things we regret not buying, but we believe it ended up in Hagar's hands and some time thereafter we ran into a 'reprint' issue of 1000 numbered sheets at shows. The overwhelmingly interesting element of the sheet was that each card was a bit smaller, at approximately 2 1/4"x 3 1/4". Honestly, we only know for sure that we bought a couple of the reprint sheets from Hagar and not that he created it. Regardless, we dug up one out in the warehouse, and are offering it up in six and eight player panels. Now the dust has settled, these look pretty scarce and hopefully will find a home in a specialized collection.Condition is lovely nr-mint to mint, and size is 9 1/4"x 6 3/4" with a margin at the top.FREE SHIPPING to Canada and the USA
