1966 Ford Mustang

Description: This is a 1966 Ford Mustang coupe that was converted to a drag car in 1967 at Hayward Ford in Northern California. It was raced at Fremont Dragway in Fremont, CA in the 60s, 70s, and 80s, as some of the stickers in the pics will show. The driver was Mike Horton who raced with the Hayward Drag Club. I attempted to locate Mr. Horton but was unsuccessful. However, I posted the car and name on the Fremont Dragway FaceBook site and there were those who knew/know him. I was going to keep the car and modify it to my tastes but felt it would be best to leave it as is and start with a different platform. Everything is as how it was when it was purchased by me. Clear California title. It is loud as it has long tube headers with two short pieces of exhaust pipe coming off of the headers. I have a set of brand-new headers and mufflers that will go with the car. I attempted to upload a video of it starting/running but it would not load. I can send a video to serious bidders. It is street legal. -All original body panels that I can see with body tags-No rust/rot-The body does have a small dent in the driver's door.-Paint is a thin re-spray from back in the day that started coming off when the previous owner power washed it-Built 289-Ford 9 inch rear end/unknown gears.-Battery in trunk-Electric fuel pump-Vintage Grant steering wheel-Rollbar-Vintage tachometer on the dash-Vintage B&M shifter-Old school racing buckets original to the build-Slotted mags with new front tires. Rear Hoosier slicks.-Comes with original gold painted steel wheels and pie pan slicks-Shoulder harnesses
