Robertson was part of the talented group of artists and illustrators who flourished in London in the 1890's and he claimed to have been influenced by Crane and the Glasgow school, something that is clearly evident in the illustrations in this work. The work is essentially a poem, written as a play for a young one year old child. CONDITION In a cloth binding. Externally, a trifle rubbed with loss to corners and backstrip detached with some loss. Fading to rear board. Front joint starting but firm. Ink inscription to front free end-paper. Internally, firmly bound with light foxing to first and last couple of pages, otherwise bright and clean.
