Description: 1885 LIBERTY "V" NICKEL NGC MS 62 EXCELLENT FULL STRIKE & FLASHY WHITE BRUSHED NICKEL. One tiny cut behind the eye, a very thin, disappearing scratch across the "V", and a faint benign spot at 11:00 reverse. Looks "Choice" to me. A fantastically tough Key Date in this hugely underrated series. Just 1,472,700 nickels were coined in 1885, and apparently these were produced in just the first few weeks of the year. This represents just 4.3% of the total number of Liberty Nickels (34,243,200) struck in 1883, 1884, and 1885. Absent from the marketplace in affordable Mint State grades.
