1820s Georgian 14k Gold Split Grey Seed Pearl Aquamarine Mourning Ring EXC

Description: Rare Georgian natural split grey seed pearls surround a Pale Blue Rose cut Aquamarine (?) in a 14k yellow gold setting from around 1820 to 1840s. The beautiful pearls have a steely blue luster and are complimented perfectly by there gold setting. They are natural, which is incredibly rare these days and almost exclusively found in antique jewelry. The Gemstone has a beautiful pale blue hue, matching perfectly with the seed pearls. I believe there has been a repair at some point, one of the split pearls was replaced with a bead of 14k gold and compliments the ring perfectly. The sides of the ring look to be a mix of gold metal... im honestly not sure. It certainly isnt plated but this area has a beautiful red hue to the inside of the braided gold. Its hard to photograph but you can see it in the pics. This design reminds me of the Caduceus symbol minus the staff. The back is engraved with the letter "B" and the ring may hold a lock of hair sealed inside.The underside of the ring has remnants of the lead soldering that was used to seal the back. The top of the ring measures 15.5 mm by 14.50 mm.and sits off the finger 6.35. It is a truly stunning ring at 200 years old. It is currently a size 6.25 and could easily be resized up or down. ( it is possible that this ring is 15K, Im just not able to test for that) as I believe it is English. The ring weighs 5.12 grams. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
